Open Mornings Autumn 2023

Our Autumn Term Open mornings have now closed. However, we are very happy to show prospective parents around our lovely school by appointment. Please contact the school office if you would like to arrange a visit.

If you have any enquiries regarding admissions, you can email v.cawdeary@fourmarks.hants.sch.uk and our School Secretary/Admissions will be happy to help you.  Please bear in mind that if it is during a school holiday you may not receive an immediate reply but your enquiry will be dealt with as quickly as possible.

You can also apply for a place at our school online by following the link below.

http://www3.hants.gov.uk/schooldetails?dfes=3061#admissions

You can also contact the Local Authority directly to find out about admissions and appeal arrangements.

In the Autumn Term we offer tours on particular dates for you to be able to see the school in operation. These will continue to go ahead subject to levels of covid-19 infections within the school.  If you wish to book onto one of these tours then please call the school office on 01962 772200 and we will do our best to help.

For parents who are unable to make these dates, or who have recently moved to the local area, we can offer personal tours by appointment. Please contact our school office and we will be pleased to help.

The link below is where you will find a virtual tour of our school.  This will be helpful for those of you that cannot attend the open tours in person.

If you have any questions about the school, how it runs or if your child may have specific needs or need extra help then please call the school office and we will do our best to answer questions and help.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Four Marks Primary School family!

New Parent Virtual Tour 2021 2022

A short virtual tour of our school for those not able to visit the school

School Catchment

All children who live in Four Marks and East Tisted have the right to attend the school, provided there are sufficient places.  Applications are very welcome from those who live outside this area.  Should there be insufficient places, admissions will be subject to our admission policy (Hampshire), which can be accessed through the school office.  Parents are encouraged to visit the school before registering their children.  We are always pleased to show parents and their children (if possible) around the school.

At the age of eleven, the majority of children transfer to Perins School in Alresford.  Others transfer to Amery Hill or Eggars Schools in Alton.

To check whether your address falls within our catchment please click on the link below:

For our Admissions Policies, please see above. If you are applying in-year for a school place, please ensure that you refer to the Admission Policy for the current academic school year. If you are a main round applicant (Year R children starting September for the next academic year), please refer to the admissions policy relating to the year your child will start school.

As the local authority manages our admissions process, the local authority will be able to provide further details on our school’s admission and appeal arrangements.

Starting School

Welcome to our school!  We have a planned induction programme that ensures children settle quickly and happily into their reception class and school.  A pack has been created that explains exactly what we do in the programme, and this is available as a hard copy from the school office.

The Foundation Stage staff try to visit all our new children in their pre-school settings during the Summer Term prior to them starting school, as well as visiting you and your child in your homes at the beginning of the Autumn Term.  This enables them to introduce themselves and help you get to know them in surroundings familiar to your child.

Once in school, the children have a wonderful time exploring, discovering and learning, largely through play-based activities.  We provide a very well-equipped indoor and outdoor environment where children can safely investigate and where carefully selected activities encourage children to experiment with letters and numbers.  Every child is different and we promote this uniqueness and help children follow their own interests wherever possible.
