At Four Marks CE Primary School, we believe that education is about much more than what happens in the classroom. We want every child to have opportunities to discover new interests, develop their talents, build confidence and resilience, and develop the skills and relationships that will help them flourish.

Our enrichment offer supports this vision by providing children with opportunities to develop our LIFE values of Love, Integrity, Forgiveness and Equality in practical, meaningful and enjoyable ways.

The Department for Education's Enrichment Framework encourages schools to provide a broad and well-rounded range of experiences, including opportunities in arts and culture, nature and the outdoors, sport and physical activity, civic engagement, and wider life and future skills. At Four Marks, we are proud to offer a growing range of opportunities that help children explore their interests, try something new and develop confidence beyond the curriculum.

Our Enrichment Offer

Nature, Outdoors and Caring for Our World

Our Chicken Club gives children the opportunity to care for our school chickens. Through feeding, cleaning and looking after the animals, pupils develop responsibility, teamwork and an understanding of the importance of caring for living things.

Our Gardening Club provides children with the opportunity to work in our school's sensory garden. Children can enjoy being outdoors, develop practical skills and learn more about plants, nature and the environment.

                         

Arts, Music and Performance

Creativity and self-expression are an important part of our enrichment offer.

Our Boomwhackers Club provides an enjoyable and accessible way for children to develop their musical skills through rhythm, performance and teamwork.

Our Choir gives pupils the opportunity to sing together, develop confidence and experience the enjoyment of performing as part of a group.

Through Showtime, children can explore the exciting world of performing arts, developing skills in performance, creativity, collaboration and self-confidence.

We also offer Dance, delivered by an external provider, giving children further opportunities to develop physical skills, creativity and confidence through movement and performance.

Sport and Physical Activity

We believe that physical activity plays an important role in children's health, wellbeing, confidence and teamwork.

Our enrichment opportunities include Netball and Football, with football provided by an external specialist, alongside Judo, also delivered by an external provider. These activities give children opportunities to develop physical skills, resilience, discipline, teamwork and a love of being active.

Developing Skills for the Future

Our Goblin Cars project for Year 5 provides an exciting opportunity for pupils to work together to design, build and race their own cars as part of an event at Goodwood. This memorable experience develops practical and technical skills, teamwork, problem-solving, creativity and perseverance, while also giving children the opportunity to apply their learning in a real-life and challenging context.

We are committed to continuing to develop an enrichment offer that is broad, inclusive and responsive to the interests of our children and community. We recognise that children have different talents, interests and strengths, and we want them to have opportunities to discover activities that inspire and challenge them.

Through enrichment, we want our children to develop not only new skills, but also confidence, friendships, resilience, teamwork and a sense of belonging. Whether a child is caring for our chickens, performing on stage, creating music, tending the garden, competing in sport or racing a car they have helped to build, these experiences help to create lasting memories and broaden children's understanding of what they can achieve.
