Morning snacks and Tuck Shop
As part of our Personal and Social Education, we teach children about healthy eating and all the children in Years R, 1 and 2 are offered a piece of fruit as a mid-morning snack. They are encouraged to help themselves to drinks of water throughout the school day.
You can order milk for children to have during snack time (please complete and return an order form should you wish your child to have this).
We ask you not to provide alternative snacks as this undermines our aim of promoting healthy eating and broadening the children’s tastes.
For children in Key Stage 2 we have a communal 'snack station' which children can help themselves to during breaktimes. This will usually be a piece of fruit.
From Year 1 upwards, children may buy a morning breaktime snack from our tuck shop. This runs 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Children may buy a MAXIMUM of 2 items from the tuck shop, and should not buy snacks for other children. This gives the children the opportunity to handle small amounts of 'real money', but please do not send children into school with notes. We suggest no more than 50p a day.
