  • Great Reads for Foundation Stage

Research has frequently highlighted the importance of learning poems and nursery rhymes by heart in the Early Years. Nursery rhymes help children develop vocabulary, rhythm, counting and number sense, physical development (action songs), and allow them to build an understanding of the world around them. Repetition and familiarity help the child to remember and supports language development, whilst engaging a child fosters social development.
